When I moved to Wahkiakum I was told I’d be a newcomer until everyone I met the first year I was here was dead and buried. Having met some children who were decades younger than me, I sometimes despair of ever being a local.

btw, I am so glad someone else posted a shot of those little boy statues. I am pretty sure they’d run me out of town if I did. The readerboard on the church on the main drag has some great stuff, too.
